The European Expert Group on the Transition from Institutional to Community-based Care (EEG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mariya Yasenovska as its new Coordinator and Advocacy Officer.

Mariya brings more than 20 years of experience in human rights advocacy, with a particular focus on deinstitutionalisation in Eastern Europe. Her work has strongly centred on the rights of persons with disabilities and children, as well as on advancing inclusive policies and strengthening civil society cooperation across Europe.

Her expertise and commitment will further strengthen the EEG’s work to promote the transition from institutional to community-based care and to advance the right to independent living across Europe.

Mariya’s position is made possible thanks to the support of the Tanya’s Dream Fund (TDF) and the European Commission. The EEG would also like to express its sincere appreciation to Delia Mara Pop for recognising the potential of the EEG and for her collaboration.

We warmly welcome Mariya to the team and look forward to this new chapter in the EEG’s work.
