The European Expert Group on the Transition from Institutional to Community-based Care (EEG) has joined a joint statement on the future of EU funding and its role in preventing family separation and the institutionalisation of children.
The statement, developed by a broad EU coalition and supported by Tanya’s Dream Fund (TDF), highlights the need for EU funding to prioritise prevention and family support, strengthen community-based services, and ensure full respect for fundamental rights.
These priorities are essential to ensure that EU funding delivers meaningful support for children and families across Europe, and contributes to inclusive, community-based systems of care.
The EEG is proud to stand alongside its partners, including Eurochild, a member of the EEG, in calling for a stronger, rights-based approach in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034).
